DaedalusX64 Public Beta 1

As far as the homebrew scene is concerned, StrmnNrmn has been MIA, but his legacy lives on with the first public beta release of DaedalusX64, a continuation of the popular Nintendo 64 emulator for PSP. Based off R13, this build of Daedalus is a collaborative effort between several developers, including Chilly Willy, Hlide, Wally, Howard0su and Kreationz.

In addition to various bug fixes, notable enhancements in beta 1 include TV-out support, along with Media Engine audio processing and threading optimizations. Hit the jump for the full changelog.

* TV Out Support (Chilly Willy)
* ME Audio Supported (Small speed-up with sound on.) (Chilly Willy)
* Increased audio buffers for better sound quality (Kreationz)
* Changed logo and graphics to represent new name (graphic by SynGamer)
* Fixed screen shots (Chilly Willy)
* Fixed an OoT custom clend Mode (Wally)
* Fixed Shaking using double display lists (GoldenEye 007, others…) (idea Wally, code Kreationz)
* Pause Menu Reset not working properly (Kreationz)
* Fixed FPS Display and Framerate limiter (Kreationz)
* Optimized code generation for fragments which branch to themselves is now optional
Fixes games that broke from R12-13 (Kreationz)
* Improved thread communications in job manager (Hlide)

Thanks Wally for the tip!

`Rage` says:

Niseee!

jx233 says:

The sound still does not work. :crying:

It faster than R13 though.

So other than sound, it's pretty fast.

Chilly Willy says:

There are games where the sound doesn't work. The original author of the sound code was waiting until we got the sound running on the ME before contributing a newer version of the code. So some time soon, we should get newer (and hopefully better) code for the sound.

cyrus says:

tried zelda oracina of time still is the same..mario 64 defenitely is faster than it was on r13..other than that the sound still doesnt work around with the game so i guess we have to wait for official release..nice release though..

brad_snake412 says:

when will this run at the speed of a n64

Chilly Willy says:

No. Some games are playable, but many aren't. That will improve over time, but this is by no means a substitute for a real N64 or a PC N64 emulator.

january39 says:

This release is far far faster than R13, very pleasing.

While Goldeneye still very slow, it is still increased over the other releases of Daedulus.

Many thanks for the Dev on this - I have read that Mario 64 is way faster now

Questions

1. Are graphics/texture bugs fixed in Zelda Oot?

2.in Ocarina of Time, what is General FPS?

Nice emulator ,definitly better than R13, but it is very similar to the R14 Beta released by Captain Morgan.

BUT, Daedalus X64 Beta 2 and the Official Release look good though. Thanks to all who put their work, effort and time into Daedalus X64.

and 3rd question is, what kernel was this emulator programmed for? (1.00, 1.50, 3.XX?)

january39 says:

Super Mario goes at 28-30 Fps without sound which is good enough to play; Also tried rampage and that runs at 49fps with sound!

This is a massive improvement.

I do nto think all the graphical glitches have been ironed out for zelda, zelda/goldeneye/perfect dark were the later data heavy carts in my experience these suffer the most on this.

annaa says:

i think the roms dont work cause super mario 64 works 98% fine with sound and everything..tried mario kart an its crappy
