DSi Security Broken

by Mike Bendel on November 4, 2008 @ 1:29 pm

Word broke late last week that the newly released DSi was incompatible with all flash cart models, but it seems that Nintendo’s security efforts were in vain. Yasu of YSMenu fame already has managed to run homebrew code on the handheld, a mere three days after its release in Japan. Above is a video clip of him running a simple application, which displays the text “Hello World” in a floating box across the screen. Specifics on how this feat was achieved are sketchy at the moment, but the author does make mention of potentially developing a PSP-esque custom firmware on his blog.
