Nintendo Shifts Over 170K DSi Units In Two Days

According to sales data collected by Famitsu publishing house Enterbrain, Nintendo took the handheld market by storm this week, selling through 170,779 DSi units in the first two days following launch on November 1. Not too shabby! Especially when taking into account that a recent survey pegged only 4 percent of the core market as being interested in purchasing a DSi. In comparison, it took the PSP-3000 refresh four days to hit the 140,000 mark.

Of course, the real question here is whether the momentum will continue. It will also be interesting to see how DS Lite sales are affected as a result of the introduction of the DSi.
