Video Capture Functionality May Be Coming To PSP

If you keep tabs on the latest firmware development efforts, then you may recall that Sony added an API-level control in a previous system software update to give developers the option of implementing video capture in PS3 titles. This same feature could be making its way to our beloved handheld in the future, as according to an Impress Watch interview with several prominent figures from the company’s firmware and PlayStation Network team, Sony engineers are currently pondering over the idea of bringing video capture support to the PSP.

Now, in terms of raw power, the PS3 obviously outpaces the PSP by a rather large margin. That being said, implementing the ability to capture full-resolution videos on PSP could be pose to be a considerable challenge. We’d love to see it happen, though.
