With new cfw 5.00 m33-3, the option in Recovery Menu "Use version.txt" is useless, wherever if is enable ou disable, right???

In such case, DA may exclude this option from Recovery in next update, I guess...

Right, you don't need to use the version.txt option anymore. It'll probably stay, though, for people that have been wanting to change their version number.

Yes, you can. Just remember to place the 500.PBP file in the same UPDATE folder.

Hey how do you use version.txt? I have a version.cfg in the root.

It should be named as version.txt... you'll need to use PSARDumper to decrypt a firmware EBOOT and use the version.txt from the extracted firmware.

Hi all, I have my Phat PSP running 4.01 M33-2 right now.

I've tried both 'Network Update' and via computer unsuccessfully.

Whenever I try to upgrade to 5.00 M33-3, it says the following:

I tried the other one from 4.01 M33 to 5.00 M33-3, I followed all the procedures but it just didn't continued, it just keep on sayng "incorrect file" while verifying the 500.PBP.

You download the 5.00m33-3 update and put it in PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ then download the official 5.00 update rename it to 500.pbp and put it in the update folder. Then turn on your psp and run the update.

You only need to install the 150 addon if you have 150 apps and it only works on phat psps.

In the vsh menu(press select at the xmb) change iso mode to sony np9660 and for the slow mem card you can look at this: http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=9315 the instructions are in the readme.

Check that the 500.pbp is called exactly "500.pbp".

I' m sure 100% because I renamed it many times and redownload it also many times. I have no idea what is wrong.

In explorer go to tools, Folder Options, View tab, and untick "hide extensions for known file types" and then check the name of the 500.pbp

Yes now it"s working. When I untick this the real name was 500.pbp.pbp

Make sure UMD is set to Not required. I think on fresh installs it reverts back to UMD required

Hi, I recently downloaded the official firmware 5.00, and I installed it into my PSP Slim. Then i tried to install the CFW 5.00 M33-3, which doesn't work however (my psp says it's corrupted).

Upon further searching, i realised that what i did was wrong. I tried the correct way (rename the official firmware to 500.PBP, put it in update folder together with EBOOT.PBP), but it still gives me the same error. Is there any solution to this? :sad:

i updated to this firmware from 5.0m33-2 that was not running hombrews like PSP-PDA, LightMP3, and stuffs...well guess what....they still don't!!

scratch the previous post i made.. I just downgraded to 1.5 from my 3.4..

upgraded to 5.0 firmware.

How when i add the custome eboot.pbp in the update folder it says "this game cannot be started. The data is corrupted.

5.00m33 update goes in PSP/GAME/UPDATE with 500.PBP in the same UPDATE folder and a second 5.00.PBP at the root of the PSP memory stick ,

it should upgrade from 3.71m33 to 5.00m33 just did it on phat psp ,and since sony's 5.02 it wont connect to Playstation store it say update to latest update ,is a 5.00m33-4 required or is it PSP settings, got it to connect to Playstation Store on 5.00M33-3 just reinstalled the update again.

I just updated my PSP from version 4.01 M33 to 5.0M33-6 and it seemed to work fine... But the PSP crashes whenever I try to run any of the game and pretty much every app... So.. wtf? Do I need to rehack this? i mean.. Its technically on the appropiate version and I can still do a ot of the stuff.. so..?

First go to Recovery Menu (hold the "R' button when turning on PSP), and "format flash1 and reset default settings", that should fix your problem. :smile:

Well, you have to downgrade back to an older version like 3.90 M33-3 using Hellcat's Recovery Flasher . After that, update again to 5.00 M33-6

Why do that? Because I heard somewhere that updating from 4.01 M33 to 5.00 M33 versions caused some problems. If you update from 3.90 M33-3 then maybe, things will work out. :smile:

If you have a Pandora Battery and MagicStick, install DC8 to the MagicStick, and fix your PSP from there. DC8 installs 5.00 M33-4, but after that you can update to M33-6.

What kind of PSP do you have, is it Phat or Slim?

If its a new PSP Slim, that came with version 4.00/4.01/4.05, then it cannot be modded to 5.00 M33-4.

Can it be modded at all.

If its a PSP Phat, then yes it can be modded with a Pandora Battery and MagicStick.

If its a PSP Slim that came with official firmware 3.95 or lower when you bought it, it can be modded with a Pandora Battery and MagicStick.

If it came with 4.01 or higher when you bought it, sorry its the PSP with the unhackable/unmoddable TA-088 V3 motherboard.

Get a spare MemoryStick, and use PSP Pandora Deluxe to make a MagicStick. Buy a Pandora battery online (like a Datel Tool battery).

Have my psp on 5.00 M33-3, have been upgrading every now and then. I have quite a few games downloaded for it now and always test them as I go along. Since I uped the firmware to 5.00 M33-3 I've not had any problems, until I tried playing warhammer squad command - The PSP logo comes up and then it hangs on a black screen. It isnt the game file, have tested it on my old firmware and a mates one that I havnt upgraded yet. Any ideas? Would be greatful
