Harrison: Sony Took The Right Decision In Delaying LittleBigPlanet

Former Sony now Atari exec Phil Harrison has been a staunch supporter of LittleBigPlanet ever since the early days of development. What are his thoughts on the recent delay due to religious Qur’an references? Sure, the setback has indeed agitated avid gamers, but Harrison believes that Sony took “absolutely the right decision.”

So I think Sony took absolutely the right decision – painful though it was, and frustrating though it might be for gamers who were looking forward to it. It only seems to have heightened the anticipation, so I think it’ll end up being a win, and full credit to Media Molecule for turning around a fix as quickly as they did.

Elsewhere, Harrison mentioned that he doesn’t believe the game’s success will be hampered by this setback one bit. As he points out, the whole ordeal only seemed to bolster anticipation, rather than generate negative press.
