Mother 3 Fan Translation Released

by Mike Bendel on October 17, 2008 @ 10:07 am

As promised, the long-awaited Mother 3 English translation is now available, courtesy of the talented group of folks over at Fobby.net and Starmen.net. Project lead Tomato speaks on managing to deliever what Nintendo could not:

After more than 13 years of waiting, the sequel to EarthBound is now in English! I hope fans of the series, new and old, will find MOTHER 3 to be just as unique and interesting as its predecessors. We tried our very best to make a worthy translation, and I think we came close to hitting that mark. With any luck, the translation will seem just as “strange, funny, and heartrending” as the original Japanese version.

To apply the translation patch, note that you will need a ROM dump of the original Japanese release. Additionally, the patched ROM must be run from an emulator such as Visual Boy Advance or directly on the GBA/DS via a flash cart. Enough talk, go play!
