Half Life 2: Episode 3 Might Not Arrive Until 2010

by Mike Bendel on October 14, 2008 @ 4:15 pm

If a recent interview with Valve Software marketing vice president Doug Lombardi is any indication, it looks like we won’t be seeing Gordon’s third outing in the Half Life 2 series anytime soon. Possibly not until late 2009:

Yeah, the next time you play as Gordon will be longer than the distance between HL2 to EP1, and EP1 to EP2.

Factor in Valve Time and the release date will likely fall sometime in 2010. However, Lombardi mentioned that we may receive a glimpse into Episode 3 by the end of this year, which is reassuring to say the least.

MenaceInc says:

i played through halflife 2,episode 1 but then episode 2 didn't interest me as much....this was last october or something when i played through the orange box on 360....

x3sphere says:

I still like the original Half Life the best, but Episode 2 comes at a close second. I didn't like EP1 as much though - it was too short and did little to advance the plot. The ending in EP2 was well played, definitely one of the most emotional moments I've seen in a game.

PR0fessor Burnt says:

sadly i have never played any of theez gamez

Roe says:

I played Half Life 2 and loved it, I want to get EP 1 and 2 but was unable to due to lack of money. D:

solarnoise says:

Guys, I'm all about the whole dystopian theme going in the HL2 games, and the episodes are nice, but....does anyone else just want a Half-Life 3?

Don't get me wrong, I like running around squashing bugs with Alex and Dog, but I think it's about time for the next major update to the story, and to me that means a full sequel.
