Blockbuster Cutting PS3 40GB Price September 28

Reports have surfaced that Blockbuster retail chains across North America are cutting the price of remaining 40GB PS3 stock down to $360 this weekend. The 40GB PS3 HDMI bundle will drop to $360 as well, while the Spiderman and Transformers pack-in will be reduced to $400 come September 28, down from $460.
Sounds like a good deal at first, but is it? The new $399 80GB PS3 nets you a DualShock 3 controller and of course, an 80GB hard drive. All for $40 more. If you’re really looking to save money, you could always search around on eBay for a launch 20GB system, which includes PS2 backwards compatibility. The size of the hard drive is really a non-issue, considering that any standard 2.5-inch SATA platter will work in a PS3 just fine.
