Burnout Paradise Trophy Patch Out Now

by Mike Bendel on September 25, 2008 @ 9:47 am

Hurray! The long-awaited trophy patch for Burnout Paradise is available now, developer Criterion Games has announced. To grab the update, simply launch the game while connected to PSN and the download will begin automatically. All in all, the update adds over sixty trophies to the car-crashing (and now bike-crashing) sim, all of which are not awarded in a retroactive fashion as originally promised. Criterion explains why:

Burnout Paradise saves are locked to your profile. We had hoped to use this to retroactively award trophies, but we discovered during testing that this is not possible. You will therefore require a fresh game-save to receive trophies in Burnout Paradise. If you’re familiar with PS3 trophies already, you’ll recognise that this works in the same way as all other games that have added trophy support post-release.

Bummer! It’s alright, though, we’ll live.
