Rumor: Microsoft Slashing 360 Price In Europe

by Mike Bendel on September 15, 2008 @ 2:06 pm

Microsoft just recently slashed the price of all three Xbox 360 models in North America and Japan, but Europe? Nothing yet! Emphasis on “yet,” as a rumor has surfaced alleging that Microsoft plans to announce a 360 price cut in Europe next week on September 22.

If true, the Arcade, Premium and Xbox 360 Elite consoles will be dropping to GBP 129.99, GBP 169.99 and GBP 229.99 respectively later this month in Euroland. Considering the positive impact the price cuts have had here in the states sales-wise, it’d likely be in Microsoft’s best interest to make this announcement as soon as possible.

Sony should take note price cuts = More sales = profit

Exclusives = profit

more games = profit

Discontinue the PS2 to gain more profit for the PS3.
