Capcom Expects Resident Evil 5 To Shift 2.3 Million Units

As part of its annual financial report, Capcom revealed that it expects to shift 2.3 million units of Resident Evil 5 worldwide. Over 400 employees and outside contractors are working on the title. Considering that the series as a whole has sold 34.5 million copies to date, such an expectation is far from unrealistic.
Comparatively, Capcom hopes to sell 1.5 million units of Bionic Commando and has sales predictions for Street Fighter IV set at a modest 1.7 million.
Resident Evil 5 is due out March 12 in Japan. A North American release will follow on March 13.
