Happy 9th Birthday Dreamcast

Nine years ago from today, Sega’s Dreamcast descended on North American store shelves as the first console to include a built-in modem and proper online support for games. Despite its shortened lifespan, the console was home to a number of groundbreaking titles we now consider classics, from Soul Calibur to Power Stone. The combination of widespread piracy, poor management and stiff competition from the PS2 ultimately led Sega to pull the plug on the console.
Today, the legacy of the Dreamcast lives on through homebrew development. Slated to hit later this year is NG Dev’s graphically-impressive shoot em’ up HUX.
