As part of its third quarter financial report for 2008, publisher Take-Two revealed that Rockstar Games’ crime opus Grand Theft Auto IV has shifted a staggering 10 million units worldwide, exceeding the company’s expectations.

As you’d expect, growth was led largely by the sales of GTA IV, with net revenue for the third quarter totaling $433.8 million, compared to $206.4 million in the previous year.

In related news, the Xbox 360 exclusive episodic content for GTA IV is still vaguely targeted for a release in fiscal 2009, which runs through November 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009.
