A Microsoft insider has revealed that the upcoming Elite revision of their Xbox 360 will support the HDMI 1.2 profile, not HDMI 1.3. What exactly does this mean for you? Since it is not based on 1.3, the Elite will not support output of Dolby Digital+ or TrueHD sound.

Will people who buy the Elite feel cheated now? Probably not, even if the Elite supported HDMI 1.3 you wouldn’t get the benefits in regular games, only HD-DVD movies.
