PSP-3000 Is Real, FCC Filing Surfaces

by Mike Bendel on August 14, 2008 @ 12:02 am

Surprise, surprise. An FCC listing has confirmed that Sony is indeed working on the eternally-rumored PSP-3000. There are no details yet, as Sony has made a request for confidentiality regarding the particulars of the unit. That being said, we can’t say with complete confidence that this confirms the authenticity of the previously leaked photos.

Now for the obvious question, when will they get around to announcing it? That’s anyone’s guess at this point. Could be months from now, but at least we know it’s coming. At any rate, let’s hope Sony decides to include a hard drive this time around.

Yay! No longer a rumor.

Do you think sony is going to make the mistake of CFW integration to the 3001?

It's safe to say that any type of custom firmware won't end up on this next gen handheld anytime soon after the release.

But it will be interesting to see what our PSP Hacking "Heroes," for lack of a better term, will be doing to mod/hack this upcoming attraction.

Everything is hackable, it's just going to be exciting to see what happens.

I can't wait to see what type of security precautions Sony will be doing to enforce the PSP-3000's firmwares, if anything different at all.

Relax, wait, and see. B)
