Rumor: Dark Knight Game In Limbo

There’s no question that a game based on the blockbuster Batman movie The Dark Knight is planned. The real question is, when will we see it?
According to a recent Associated Press report, which sources an “EA manager” speaking under conditions of anonymity, the game is in development at EA-owned studio Pandemic. Despite this “confirmation,” none of the involved parties — EA, Pandemic and Warner — are speaking officially.
The piece further speculates that the game is in limbo, with reasons ranging from Heath Ledger’s death to “questionable quality” and “missed deadlines.” Add this to the fact that Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello made it quite clear last week that the company is not in the business of pushing out licensed shovelware.
Although other factors may be involved, the most plausible assumption seems to be that EA is hesitant on making an announcement as they want to make sure this game doesn’t end up being a rush-job.
