Ludlum Reacquires Bourne License

Ludlum Entertainment today announced that it has reacquired exclusive rights to “develop, publish and distribute” games based on the literary works of author Robert Ludlum.

The license was previously held by Vivendi Games, now more prominently known as Activision Blizzard. You may recall that Activision announced immediate plans to realign its product portfolio last week, which is exactly what’s happening here.

“Our colleagues at Vivendi Games did a tremendous job of capturing the spirit and allure of Robert Ludlum’s writing with The Bourne Conspiracy and the gaming community’s strong response is clear indication that future Ludlum games will deliver both popularity and profitability for years to come,” said Ludlum CEO Jeffrey Weiner.

While not a certainty, don’t be surprised to see other lesser-known Activision owned licenses sold off in the near future.
