id Software Partners With Electronic Arts

At Electronic Arts’ E3 media briefing, id Software founder John Carmack announced that id has partnered with EA to publish its upcoming Tech 5 powered first-person shooter Rage, which is slated for a multi-platform release on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

A brief trailer of Rage was shown on-screen shortly after the announcement, along with Carmack noting the further details on the game will be revealed at id’s annual QuakeCon event held in Dallas, Texas.

Apparently, the agreement with EA will extend to future titles as well, after the release of Rage. Activision was previously responsible for publishing id developed titles. Expect further details regarding this partnership to be announced soon.
