Chrono Trigger DS Confirmed For U.S. Release

That was fast! It’s only been a few hours since Square Enix launched a teaser site for Chrono Trigger DS in Japan, and now the company has sent over a press release confirming that the timeless RPG classic will hit North American territories this holiday season, along with providing a few extra, much-needed details.

First up: the game is a port of the 1995 SNES original, enhanced to take advantage of the DS touch screen functionality and dual-screen setup. Square Enix is promising additional content and features, such as an extra dungeon and wireless play mode.

LOS ANGELES, July 2 — Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix(TM) interactive entertainment products in North America, announced today that it will release CHRONO TRIGGER(R) in North America this Holiday season. STORY

Well, it's been years since I last played it and this will likely be the definitive version of the game. Square screwed up on the PSone port... the FMVs were great but the loading times were horrendous.

It's about time we get a port (sorry the PSX version doesn't count, I could not get past the loading times) of this game!
