Xbox 360 DRM Tool Released, Transfer Digital Content Licenses
by Mike Bendel on June 26, 2008 @ 2:04 pm

Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb brings word that the Xbox 360 DRM transfer tool is now available. This allows folks to transfer digitally purchased content between any two Xbox 360 units — useful if you have purchased a new 360. The simple two-step transaction can be performed only once in a twelve month period. Additionally, rented movies cannot be transferred, according to the Major.
In case you’re wondering, you probably won’t need to use the DRM tool if you’ve sent in your 360 for repair, as Microsoft automatically transfers over licenses from your purchased content as part of the repair process.
That’s all. You can check out the official site for the DRM tool at Xbox.com.
