As part of a press release announcing its corporate strategy for fiscal 2008 and beyond, Sony revealed that the PSN video download service will hit “this summer,” confirming an earlier report from the LA Times.
The digital video service will launch across a number of platforms, not just PS3. According to the company’s rollout strategy, the service will initially hit the PS3 and PSP, then later extend to Home PCs and mobiles throughout 2009 and 2010.
Specific details on the service, such as how much movie downloads will cost, were not divulged. However, Sony did provide a screen capture of the service, which is pictured above. Looks nearly identical to the current PS Store layout.
