Sony: Over 9.8 Million PSN Accounts Registered

According to a just-released Sony financial report, over 9.8 million PSN accounts have been made since the service’s launch in November of 2006. The report doesn’t specify if this figure includes dupe accounts, which many folks make to access content in regions aside from their own. Either way, it’s an impressive number. In comparison, Microsoft told us last month that the Xbox Live userbase hit 12 million users.

In total, 170 million downloads have been made on PSN, accounting for a whopping 86 peta bytes in data transfer. Retailers am cry.
