The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past 3DS

Last week Nintendo made a series of announcements regarding the upcoming lineup for the 3DS library. One of the titles revealed to be in development was a successor to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. In a recent Japanese video presentation, series Producer Eiji Aonuma revealed some insight on the upcoming game, stating that it has been in the works since 2011.

“The world of Hyrule has been reborn in a highly realistic stereoscopic vision, which will feature a new story and new puzzles to be solved,” said Aonuma enthusiastically. “The development for the successor of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is going smoothly, so, please look forward to it!”

The upcoming 3DS game, which is actually currently titled The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 in Japan, generated quite the buzz when it was announced. Judging from the debut trailer, it definitely looks really cool. You can expect the game to land on Nintendo’s dual screen handheld sometime this holiday season.
