Bethesda has announced on its blog that it is officially finished with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. While minor updates will continue to be released for the wildly popular open world RPG, new content has ceased development.

“Skyrim has been a labor of love for us since we started designing it in 2006. We never imagined it would become the phenomenon it has. And that is because of you, the fans. It was all of you who made it a success. We can’t thank you enough for embracing the game, spreading the word, and making it your own.”

The developer is currently toiling away on its next project, which is in pre-production at this point. Bethesda noted that the full team is now needed to work on the upcoming game, so Skyrim devs will move on to whatever that mysterious endeavor may be. Hmm … Could it be Fallout 4?
