Fez

Fez from developer Polytron officially turned one over the weekend. Creator Phil Fish posted a blog entry on Polytron’s official website discussing the wild ride he’s been going through over the past year, thanking the fans for digging the puzzle-platformer in the process.

“Suddenly becoming so loved and so hated by so many teaches you some humility,” wrote Fish. “Or at least some things you didn’t know about yourself. I feel like a different person now. A much, much less crazy person. A much happier person. It’s been a fantastic year! Thank you for that!”

Within the span of the last year, Fez was able to reach 200,000 sales. For the duo of Fish and Renaud Bedard who worked on the stellar indie title, that’s not shabby at all, and it’s great to see the game succeeding after being in development for so long.

Currently, Polytron is gearing up for the PC release of Fez on May 1. A Vita version is likely to follow, so stay tuned for more on that. Fez is one of those games that will capture your imagination and challenge you immensely, so if you haven’t experienced it yet, be sure to do so someday in your lifetime.
