Killer Is Dead

Back in January we found out that GungHo Online Entertainment had acquired Grasshopper Manufacture. While the partnership meant that it would likely be easier for some Grasshopper titles to be localized in North America, Suda51 has stated that it also allows for the addition of online multiplayer in the studio’s games.

“I think the biggest part of our [partnership] is [GungHo’s] online vision, their online capability is something that Grasshopper [was] lacking,” explained Suda in a statement to Destructoid. “That’s one of those things that we really want to utilize and try to work together to create something new.”

The eccentric dev stated that he’d like to incorporate multiplayer into his games, and Grasshopper’s relationship with GungHo will allow him to do exactly that. Though he hasn’t revealed anything at the moment, and despite the fact that the upcoming Killer Is Dead will be a solely single-player romp, we’ll undoubtedly find out more about Suda’s experimentation with online multiplayer down the road.
