When Japan got that Pikachu 3DS XL, it was pretty awesome and folks in North America were wondering if the handheld would receive the brightly colored model on this side of the globe. Nintendo recently announced that the Pikachu 3DS XL was certainly arriving here, and that it would be available starting March 24.

While the handheld was expected to launch with a $199.99 price tag, it looks like that may no longer be the case — for a while, at least. As indicated by a Target ad posted on NeoGAF, the Pikachu 3DS XL will be released for $159.99. This $40 discount will run from March 24 through March 30.

That Pokemon themed 3DS XL is certainly appealing. Well, if you’re a Pokemon fan. I would totally buy it, but I just got a red 3DS XL when that model first launched. Oh well. Will you be picking up this Pikachu flavored handheld?
