Crytek: Crysis Warhead To Feature Performance Enhancements

by Mike Bendel on June 19, 2008 @ 11:26 am

According to a interview with Crytek boss Cevat Yerli on German site PCGames.de, the forthcoming Crysis Warhead sports significant performance improvements that will make the game scale well to lower end hardware. How well? Yerli reckons a PC costing around 400 Euro ($620) will be able to squeeze out a respectable 30-35 FPS on “high” settings across the board.

Yerli further stated that the aforementioned performance tweaks could in fact be applied to Crysis, but as it stands the development team is currently hard at work on Warhead, and does not have plans to port the tweaks over any time soon.

We'll see... 620 dollar PC.. I usually find computers in retail stores for 620 bucks sport onboard intel graphic cards, with quad core processors.

Kwipper says:

I wish he would be more specific. Like for instance...

This game would be able to squeeze out a respectable 30-35 FPS on high settings, at 1680 x 1050 with an 8600 GT graphic card.

Now that is more specific.
