Metal Gear Solid 4 Has Had “Minimal” Impact On UK PS3 Hardware Sales

Despite becoming the second fastest-selling PlayStation 3 title in the UK, director Dorian Block of retail research firm Chart Track revealed today that Metal Gear Solid 4 has not made a significant impact on PS3 hardware sales in the region.

There’s not a lot to say about it – it had minimal impact really. Units were up by seven percent.

Expected, really. Grand Theft Auto IV didn’t exactly push hardware so we weren’t expecting MGS 4 by itself to move mountains of PS3s off the shelves. Might be a different story in North America, though, thanks to the release of multiple hardware bundle packages. We’ll see.
