Developer 11 bit studios has announced that it’s currently working on Anomaly 2. Slated for a Q2 2013 launch on PC, Mac, and Linux, the game was previously hinted at as a secret project from the studio.

Anomaly 2 will take the core mechanics of Anomaly: Warzone Earth and build upon them by introducing new gameplay features. Troops can morph into mechs; you have access to over 1 million squad combinations; and you can even engage in some competitive tower defense versus tower defense play.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth launched back in 2011 for PC and was later released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. No word yet on whether Anomaly 2 will go multiplatform yet, but if the game is as successful as its predecessor, anything’s possible.
