During this morning’s Nintendo Direct presentation, it was revealed that Donkey Kong Country Returns was going to, umm, return. This time, however, the game will appear on the 3DS.

Details on the platformer are scarce at the moment, and there’s no word on whether Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will feature brand new content. In essence, what you’re getting may very well be the same great game that popped up on the Wii a couple of years ago albeit without motion controls, with some new 3D visuals, and tailored for portability.

I’m not so sure if I’ll actually buy this game again, because I already own it on the Wii. That said, if you’ve yet to play the original, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D should most definitely be on your radar. Watch out for it later this year.
