Guitar Hero: Metallica Drops In 2009

Yes, you read that right. Guitar Hero: Metallica is slated for a release in Activision’s fiscal 2009 year, according to a recently published SEC filing uncovered by Wedbush Morgan analyst Edward Woo and GameSpot.
In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms.
Activision’s current fiscal year ends March 31, 2009. Considering that both Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and World Tour are due for a release this year, it’s safe to say that Metallica edition of the franchise will hit store shelves in the 2009 calendar year.
No further details on the title were provided in the SEC filing. Additionally, it is not yet known if the featured Metallica songs are exclusive to Guitar Hero. If the impending release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is any indication, they likely will be.
