Microsoft Points Available Via Phone Starting Next Week In Japan

Microsoft is teaming up with mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo to allow Japanese citizens to purchase MS Points for use with Xbox Live straight from their cell phone.

The service, which launches exclusively in Japan on May 26, allows owners of a NTT DoCoMo cell phone to order points through the carrier’s DoCoMo Mobile Payment service. Charges are subsequently billed to the user’s phone bill.

You know, I wouldn’t mind seeing a similar service launch here in the U.S. This is great for impulse purchases.
