Sony officially announced their new online community today, dubbed “Home”. Home will allow users to interact in a live virtual community, join online games, shop, share private content and even build and show off their own personal spaces to others in real time.

Sony’s semi-official blog threespeech.com, calls Home a first of its kind 3D community, unlike the static 2D environment of Xbox Live that is “text-heavy”.

Looks like Sony is taking a step in the right direction, they also plan to bring a closed beta test later this spring, with the full launch heading towards summer.
