Silicon Knights’ In-House Game Engine “Fantastic,” Says Dyack

Circa 2007, Too Human developer Silicon Knights filed suit against Epic Games for allegedly failing to provide a fully-functional game engine. Shortly following the incident, SK started work on a custom engine built specifically for Too Human. Sure, crafting their own engine has resulted in numerous delays and fan hate mail, but company head honcho Denis Dyack believes it was worth the trouble, calling the re-tooled engine “fantastic.”

We completely threw out the Unreal Engine and focused on something that would work for what we’re doing, and it’s been fantastic.

We’re disappointed by the omission of four player co-op, Dyack. But aside from that, the game is looking quite good and runs well, if the recent flurry of hands-on reports are any indication.
