Blizzard Acquires Diablo Fan Site

by Mike Bendel on May 1, 2008 @ 1:50 pm

Diablo3.com, a fan site covering the Diablo franchise, is now fully Blizzard owned. According to the site’s administration, an agreement was recently reached with Blizzard to hand over rights to the domain name.

In order to ensure a smooth transition process, the site will remain as a fan site until the end of June and from that point Blizzard will take over. Incidentally, the company’s annual Worldwide Invitational event also begins in late June.

Perhaps Blizzard is planning a Diablo 3 reveal at the event? It does seem likely, but Blizzard still maintains that it is not working on a third installment in the Diablo franchise. We’ll have to play the waiting game on this one.
