Microsoft has went live with an all-new Account Migration page that allows users to transfer the their Xbox Live account over to another region, completely self-serve. The process, which involves a full migration of your Xbox Live profile, Microsoft Points, and Xbox Live subscription data, is automated behind the scenes and just takes a few clicks to complete. Accounts can be moved across regions every 3 months.

Previously, users wanting to change their region had to get in touch with an Xbox support rep and have them manually move all account data. It was a lengthy endeavor – often taking around 6 weeks to complete.

There are a few caveats to note, namely that purchased content not available in the target region will not be transferred over due to “legal obligations or regional restrictions.” Microsoft recommends downloading any content affected by this stipulation prior to making the switch. Additionally, Zune subscriptions will not transfer over, nor will refunds be offered.

To get started, hit up this link on the official Xbox site.
