Developer Halfbrick has announced that its hit running man game Jetpack Joyride will be available for free on the PlayStation Network at the end of the month. The game, which is already available in Europe, will also sport the attractive $0 price tag in North America on December 31.

The upcoming iteration of Jetpack Joyride, which you’ll be able to download on your PlayStation 3 or Vita, will support some much desired extra features. Aside from HD visuals, the game will also offer Trophies and leaderboard integration.

It should be noted that Jetpack Joyride was just released as a PS Mini a couple of weeks ago. That version of the game was priced at $3.99. I’m a bit confused that the game would be released as a priced Mini and then offered for free as a much more superior full version.

In any case, I look forward to playing this version of Jetpack Joyride like you wouldn’t believe.
