Original Mod-Friendly Doom 3 Is Now Back on Steam

After Doom 3: BFG Edition landed on Steam last month, the original version of the game was removed from Valve’s digital distribution service. This resulted in a negative reaction among fans as BFG Edition isn’t exactly the mod-friendly title that the original game was.

Now, though, a report from Rock Paper Shotgun indicates that the old school iteration of Doom 3 has been relaunched on Steam. What this means is that gamers can now go mod-crazy once more. To sweeten the deal, you can snag the combo pack which includes Doom 3 and the Resurrection of Evil DLC for $12.99.

The addition of this version of the game doesn’t mean BFG Edition is going anywhere. If you’d rather play the modernized revamp which also includes Doom and Doom 2, you can do exactly that. Yay for options!
