Xbox SmartGlass App Now Available on Android

While it originally launched exclusively for Microsoft’s Surface series of tablet devices (for a handful of hours, anyway), it looks like Xbox SmartGlass is branching out. Well, it was about time, wasn’t it? I mean, that multi-hour Suface exclusivity was harsh for everyone else!

Now you can download the SmartGlass app on your Android phone or tablet through Google Play. Currently, the app allows you to keep track of your Achievements, check up on your Avatars, and connect to Dance Central 3. I’d say this is hardly an incredible list of features, but Microsoft will be adding support for other features such as interactivity with Microsoft Studios titles.

Also expected to launch sometime in the future is an iOS version of the SmartGlass app. It was originally announced for release in 2013, but so was the Android version, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if we saw it before next year.
