Interplay Bringing 16-Bit Classics To Virtual Console

Interplay has revealed that it plans to bring four of its classic Sega Genesis titles over to the Wii Virtual Console. The titles include 90s hits Earthworm Jim, Earthworm Jim 2, Boogerman and Clayfighter.

While a definitive date was not given, expect to see the games appear in Wii-kly VC update later this year.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., April 22 — Interplay Entertainment Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IPLY) announced today that four of its franchise titles for the classic Sega Genesis videogame system will soon appear on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console.

Earthworm Jim, Earthworm Jim 2, Boogerman, and Clayfighter, all popular Interplay titles on the Sega Genesis in the 1990s, will be available later this year on the Wii Virtual Console.

Nintendo’s Virtual Console makes some of the greatest video games in history available for Wii. Users can download and play many favorite NES, SNES, N64, NEOGEO, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16 titles.
