This is a bit of a doozy. Platinum Games is readying a sequel to 2010’s fast-paced action hit Bayonetta, which is fantastic news, considering how universally well-received it was. On the flip side, Sega has passed over publishing rights to Nintendo, which means Bayonetta 2 will be a Wii U exclusive.

Granted, we don’t know the exact details behind Nintendo’s publishing arrangement, but once they get their hands on a title it’s safe to say it will remain exclusive. If you weren’t already sold, might want to re-think those Wii U purchasing plans now.

The announcement was made during the Nintendo Direct conference earlier today. While details beyond that are scant, a short teaser trailer was released. Check it out after the break.
