Much Like the NeoGeo X Gold, the NeoGeo X Is Also Pretty Expensive

Last time we discussed the NeoGeo revival here on eXophase, I stated that the NeoGeo X Gold was kind of expensive. Sure, it comes with the home console, the handheld, a joystick, and 20 preloaded titles, but at $199.99, I don’t think I could bring myself to purchasing it. And I love retro gaming!

Apparently, there’s a standalone version of the NeoGeo X that only includes the handheld device and the 20 games (Thanks, Joystiq!). This one’s cheaper, but I still think it’s kind of expensive. What’s the big price tag? $129.99.

Okay, so that’s not too expensive when you really think about it, but it still kind of is. I hope I’m not coming off as some sort of cheap bastard, but really look at the NeoGeo X. It plays digital versions of a lot of games that are also downloadable on other platforms such as the Wii Virtual Console.

What do you folks think?
