PS3 Firmware 4.25 Increases Cloud Storage Limit to 1GB

Sony’s announced that PS3 firmware 4.25 will go live sometime tomorrow, bringing with it increased cloud storage capacity for PlayStation Plus users. The limit, originally a paltry 150MB, has been raised to a more respectable 1GB. If you’ve got a few large save files — like the 10MB heavyweight that is Dragon Age Origins, this should come as a welcome addition.

The 1GB allotment will be automatically activated after upgrading to firmware 4.25, so if you’re already a PS Plus user there’s no extra steps. Apart from this change, it appears the 4.25 update will not include any other changes. Documented ones, at least. There’s always the chance that Sony will sneak some minor tweaks in elsewhere, so we’ll be on the lookout for those.
