Metal Gear Online Beta Postponed

Uh-oh. All that traffic generated by the impending Metal Gear Online launch must have hit Konami’s servers pretty hard. Citing unexpected technical difficulties, the company today notified registered MGO players that the beta program has been (gasp) delayed. Here’s the official word:

We would like to thank all players for their keen interest in taking part in the beta test. However, we regret to inform you that due to extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe, we have been unable to run the service to the level we expected. As a temporary measure, we will be deferring the European public beta test and start it once we stabilize our server. We would like to apologize for all inconveniences as well as confusion caused.

According to Konami, the beta run is now re-scheduled to kick off on April 25 at 24:00 PDT and will conclude on the revised date of May 11. Let’s hope that the second time is the charm.
