Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and the entire God of War series have gone on to become heralded PlayStation brands. These games delivered intensely satisfying experiences when they first launched, and they’re remembered dearly by many. So it should come as no surprise that Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection and God of War Collection, which initially launched as HD compilations on the PlayStation 3, have received the remote play treatment on the Vita.

As announced on the PlayStation Blog, a patch for the US and Europe has been released for both collections. Now you’ll be able to play Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, and God of War II wherever you may be. Well, granted you have access to a Wi-Fi connection.

In case you’re wondering what to do about the missing L2 and R2 buttons that both of these collections require, you’ll be glad to know that you can map those functions to the rear touchpad. As for the clickable L3 and R3 buttons, well, I’m not too sure about those. Sony didn’t seem to specify the deal with that. In any case, portable versions of both of these compilations are most certainly welcome.
