If you want some good ol’ R-Type gaming on your PlayStation 3, you better get to downloading, because today’s the last day you’ll be able to get said good ol’ R-Type gaming on your PlayStation 3. It was previously revealed that developer Irem was taking R-Type Delta and R-Types off the PlayStation Network. Well, the dark day has arrived, and as of tomorrow, these PlayStation titles will no longer be available for download.

It’s a bit strange that Irem is removing its R-Type titles from the PlayStation Network as the company never specified why it was doing it. Last year, the studio removed R-Type from the Wii Virtual Console, which was also disappointing on account of just how fun the classic shmup series was for a lot of people. Sadly, I wouldn’t know because I’ve never played an R-Type game in my life.

I suppose I could always download R-Type Delta and R-Types right now on the PlayStation Network. But truth be told, I probably wouldn’t have a lot of time to play them on account of all the other titles I need to play for review purposes. I guess I’ll never play an R-Type game. But that shouldn’t stop you fine people! Enjoy some R-Type goodness; download the games today for the very last time on the PlayStation Network.
