Trademark filings, always a fun and interesting subject. The latest is that Square Enix has filed a trademark with the USPTO for the mark “Chapters of the Chosen” under video game software. Educated speculation suggests that this may be the subtitle for a yet-to-be-announced localized version of Dragon Quest IV DS.

Why? It’s simple, really. The original release of DQIV was composed of five chapters, with the fifth and final chapter titled “The Chosen Ones.” Of course, this is entirely conjuncture, but given the facts, it seems very likely that this is indeed a subtitle for DQIV. If it is, I reckon we’ll find out soon enough.
