Crysis 3 For Wii U Could Happen, Says Crytek

Crysis 3 could be headed to the Wii U. Speaking to CVG, producer at Crytek Mike Read stated that it’s definitely a possibility, though nothing is officially confirmed as of yet. That said, Crytek is working with Nintendo, which should further help create some internet buzz involving both companies.

“I mean the Wii U still doesn’t have any kind of release [date] attached to it at this point,” said Read. “Who knows what the future will bring with it? I can definitely say that we are working with Nintendo, and that’s about all I can say on that front. I wouldn’t rule it out, but there has really been no official releases associated with the Wii U yet, and given that we’re releasing Crysis in an eight month time period in February of 2013, we can’t play off of what their schedules are. I wouldn’t rule it out, but you know, it is a possibility.”

So Crysis 3 for Wii U. Watch out for it following the console’s launch! Just kidding! Still, the fact that it’s a possibility is fun to think about, especially when you take into account the fact that the developer can probably do some cool things with that GamePad. If Crytek isn’t working on Crysis 3 for Nintendo’s upcoming console, then it could very well have something else planned.

We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for Crytek and Nintendo.
